The movie is based on a posthumous best-seller by Stieg Larsson, titled "Men who hate women" in Swedish. Both, the English and Swedish titles are equally interesting and hard to ignore aren't they?
The main theme is crime/suspense. Its a shocking and somewhat gory movie, so make sure you watch it in the right frame of mind :)

I absolutely hated Lisbeth's guardian, and absolutely loved what she did to him.
One thing I found weird was that Mikael tries to justify Martin's stand - that Martin was introduced to this kind of a life by his father at a very young age, and so perhaps he didn't know otherwise...
